Stories from the West Side: Can you hear me now??

Tonight, some people were making fun of my, duct taped phone. Then I started to think of all the things i'd put my phone through. But then I had remembered something...
If you think your phone has survived worse things, then you should go talk to my Uncle Paul. He'll tell ya otherwise!
It all started at the airport... And if you are starting to guess, I assure you, you are in for a treat. Nature was calling, and Paul had no choice but to answer. So after he rushed to the urinal, he recieved a phone call. Knowing it was my cousin asking where he was, he went to answer. He went to answer and *Click-kerplunk*, his phone took a dive. There his phone sat, answered and in the urinal, as he was, Ahem... doing his business. What a pickle he was in! He really had to go, but he didn't want to reach for his phone and I don't blame him. So there he stood.... Peeing on his phone. What makes me laugh everytime I hear this story is when I think of the guys going next to him.
Guy in the next urinal- "Man, must've been someone he hated if he's going to urinate on them on the phone..."
OR
"I wonder if his girlfriend broke up with him or something."
Paul tells us how the guys next to him just gave him weird glares. That poor phone didn't even know what was coming. When he finished, he just picked it up with a bunch of towels wrapped it up, and took it home to dry it... and clean it some more. But, never fear folks, after all his phone went through, IT STILL WORKED!! Sure, all the letters and numbers showed up backwards, but it still worked! We all joke about how he offers the phone to people who he doesn't like to use it. Little do they know...
All-in-all, if you are looking for a durable phone, ask Paul. He has a good eye for a reliable phone to stick with you until the end! ;)

I get it, you're a cat.

So, my nephew made me watch this video, said it was hilarious. When I watched it, one person came to mind, and I laughed hysterically. After you watch it, most of you can guess who it is.

Yep, the culprit is none other than Emily Bateman. She showed me this video awhile back, and I laughed just as hard as I did to this day. Emily, this post is dedicated to you. Enjoy.

My Hero Helen

I love that you were such a tomboy when you were little.

I love your fiesty scottish-irish attitude.

I love how when the cousins were fighting, you'd snatch the oldest's ear and threaten them with your cute little old lady fury.

I love that you would sneak me a peppermint patty every once and awhile.

I love how you had such a passion for playing Bridge, and the fact that you had Bridge buddies and held Bridge Night regularly.

I LOVE those sweaters you would always wear with the cute creatures or other decorative things on them. They definitely defined you.

I love how it seemed everyone was an acquaintance of yours or even a pal of yours.

I love that you were so athletically involved from tennis to bowling.

I love hearing how you almost beat the Utah champ at tennis.

I love how you always managed to refill that cookie jar full of M&M's for every visit. But didn't fool us kids when you would put those fake generic kind in.

I love how every time I saw you, you were seemed so excited to see me and gave me the biggest hug ever!

I love that one time you locked yourself in Janet's food closet to talk to a friend so that you wouldn't interrupt dinner. It was a very small closet.

I love your cooking. Those hot fudge sundaes were the highlight of any family get together. Even the nights you didn't feel like cooking, I loved the tradition of getting Papa Murphy's with the family.

I love your independent self, and how you thought everyone else was the same. Letting your son go all on his own on an overnight hike with just Shasta and some Twinkies is a testament of that.

I love your values and sweet spirit.

I love how you encouraged a sense of humor and laughter into your family.

I love your passion for nature.

I love your kids and how well you brought them up, my dad especially.

I love how cute you were together with grandpa.

I just plain ol' love you Grandma and will miss you being around. Can't wait to meet up with you on the other end!
