My Hero Helen

I love that you were such a tomboy when you were little.

I love your fiesty scottish-irish attitude.

I love how when the cousins were fighting, you'd snatch the oldest's ear and threaten them with your cute little old lady fury.

I love that you would sneak me a peppermint patty every once and awhile.

I love how you had such a passion for playing Bridge, and the fact that you had Bridge buddies and held Bridge Night regularly.

I LOVE those sweaters you would always wear with the cute creatures or other decorative things on them. They definitely defined you.

I love how it seemed everyone was an acquaintance of yours or even a pal of yours.

I love that you were so athletically involved from tennis to bowling.

I love hearing how you almost beat the Utah champ at tennis.

I love how you always managed to refill that cookie jar full of M&M's for every visit. But didn't fool us kids when you would put those fake generic kind in.

I love how every time I saw you, you were seemed so excited to see me and gave me the biggest hug ever!

I love that one time you locked yourself in Janet's food closet to talk to a friend so that you wouldn't interrupt dinner. It was a very small closet.

I love your cooking. Those hot fudge sundaes were the highlight of any family get together. Even the nights you didn't feel like cooking, I loved the tradition of getting Papa Murphy's with the family.

I love your independent self, and how you thought everyone else was the same. Letting your son go all on his own on an overnight hike with just Shasta and some Twinkies is a testament of that.

I love your values and sweet spirit.

I love how you encouraged a sense of humor and laughter into your family.

I love your passion for nature.

I love your kids and how well you brought them up, my dad especially.

I love how cute you were together with grandpa.

I just plain ol' love you Grandma and will miss you being around. Can't wait to meet up with you on the other end!
