Disneyland or Bust!

IT'S OFFICIAL!
I'm going to DISNEYLAND!
I've paid my entrance fees, signed up for my arrival date, and now have blogged about it. :)
How much more official could it get?
I found out last Thursday.
I was working when my sister had called. I was in the library so of course I ignored the call.
After that, she called me two more times. Noticing how persistent she was, I texted her that I was in the library and asked what the emergency was.
She texts back: You totally just got something in the mail from Disney!!!
After reading that, in all honesty my heart sunk.
It was only barely two weeks after the interview, and they told me it would take about 4 weeks. So naturally I thought it was a rejection letter.
I finished up my work in the library, while still ignoring my sister's calls until I finally left.
Once I was out, I called her back and told her to get it over with and to read to me what it said.
She then opens it up and begins to read... to herself. haha
I then hear her laughing and screaming.
She then exclaims: "Mandi, Disney wants you! You made it!!"
I then proceeded to do a happy dance... haha I was ecstatic!!
I immediatly started to call my family and tell them the good news!
I saved the Heybornes for last, and luckily the whole family was in the car.
I beated around the bush a bit till I finally spilled the beans.
"I'm movin to California!"
Trisha started to scream, and tells the family that I got the job at Disneyland. I could hear the kids as they were all exclaiming how excited they were that their aunt would work for Disneyland.
Needless to say, I'm soooo excited, and I am grateful that I have such loving and supporting family that are there with me on this new adventure of my life.
Even if the ones in California are a little bit biased. ;)
DISNEYLAND OR BUST:
My arrival date is January 17th, 2010.
Ends about August 12th, 2010.
COME VISIT THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH
AND ME!!!!

Babies and Raves

Item #1: So my sister is about to pop! She's now full term with her pregnancy, which means the baby could come at any moment. Time to pull E'Claire outta the oven! My money is on early Sunday morning... call it a hunch. Elise will be my third niece and I know she's going to be a cutie pie! I can't wait to meet my Niece Elise. *hehe All I have to say is good luck to my sister and we are prayin for you guys!!

Item #2: Yes, we threw our own rave. Cram a whole bunch of people in an apartment with a disco ball and great music, and you can get one heck of a rave. Pretty sure it was the hot spot to hit up in Logan on Thursday night. It was awesome!

Here's where we died from exhaustion! Dancing for 3 hours straight will do that to ya...

Yes, I'm Good To Drive, But Never Ever Alone!

So usually I don't drive to Salt Lake from Logan, or vice-versa, by myself. But the one time I find that I have to, the most unbelievable thing happened.

It starts out like this, I'm going 60 on the freeway and I'm talkin to my sister on the phone. We are discussing the disney college thing when all of a sudden I'm blinded by this guys brights. I ignore it and just keep talking. Then I notice this guy is driving next to me. Once again, I try to ignore him. Then I hear this car honking. It is the same guy! I try not to pay attention to him and keep talking to my sister, but I keep noticing that he is driving along side of me. This continues for a long time, and I start freaking out. So I tell my sister I would call her back, hang up, and look over, and he is trying to talk to me... So I roll my window down and ask him what's up? Stupid, because we are driving so fast, so of course I couldn't understand him. He motions me to pull over. Me thinking "Oh crap, there must be something wrong with my car!", I pull over. He then pulls in behind on the side of the road. Too scared to meet this guy, I instantly lock my doors and roll down my window a little bit. The guy then precedes to get out of his car and comes up to my door. He motions me to open up.... Stupid me, I do it. (I know I know, idiot!) This is what happens next:

Smoker guy: *reaches out hand to shake* Hello, I'm Rolland.
Me:*shakes his hand* Hi there... I'm Trisha. (totally made it up on the spot, more like a defensive instinct)
Rolland: You are good to drive?
Me:*Very perplexed by this question* Yes? I am good to drive....
Rolland: Good, good... So what's your number?
Me: *Very oblivious.* My Number? Are you serious? Why my number?
Rolland: You say you are good to drive, no? Just thought I get your number.
Me: *Just sit there dazed as he then leans on my car smokin away, silently I mutter ew* I'd rather not.
Rolland: Oh you have boyfriend??
Me: *abruptly* Yes! Yes I do!
Rolland: Oh 'scuse me. Sorry about this. *then reaches out to shake my hand again*
Me: *Not wanting to shake his hand after knowing what he was after, I slap it like a high five* Alright bye!
Both get in our cars and drive away.

This is why I refuse to drive home by myself ever, ever again!

Four Weeks

I feel a little bit like this little fella.

Why? Because after the long process of applying for Disney they are going to make me wait for "approximately" 4 weeks until I get a reply!! haha
This is driving me crazy, I can't wait to find out! But some people tell me it's a good thing I have to wait so long... Hopefully they are right, and I'll be getting back to ya'll in a months time!

Hips Don't Lie

So just to fill everyone in, I am taking a Kayaking class.
Yes, Kayaking. I wanted to try something new, and this sounded like a blast.
We have class in the pool and go over different techniques of kayaking.
Yesterday, we learned how to T-save a buddy. T-saving is where your buddy has flipped under, and can't get back up, out of the water.
So we partnered up, and watched as our partner struggled under water until we came to rescue them.
Here's how it worked:
1- One partner rolls under water.
2- The one under water then continues to tap on the kayak 3 times.
3- Once the partner sees you tap, they then hit the partner's kayak to form a T.
4- The person under water then grasps for the handle on their partner's boat and flips back over.
I didn't realize I had picked such a suicidal sport.
As we were running the T-save, my instructor Mike came over to help me out. I was struggling ALOT. Mike told me to flip the hip, but all I could do was spaz out. After what seemed like a minute I finally got up right with my partner laughing at me.
Mike then continued to tell me how for homework, I was to loosen up my hips. Find the Shakira hips deep from within.
Those of you who know me, or at least have seen me dance... Know that I do not have Shakira hips deep down inside. They just don't move the right way.
This homework assignment should prove to be very interesting...

Let the wild rumpus start!

All I can think about lately is this:

I loved, loved, loved this book as a child. It's what sparked a lot of the crazy imagination I was running off of growing up. Now a movie??? Could I be more excited?! I quite honestly am so thrilled to see the director's take on this children's book. I hope that I will love it as much as I think I will! Definately going opening day! I can't wait any longer!!

Oh and the photography is just plain AMAZING!!!
